Deliberative engagement is an inclusive way to involve people in decision-making, especially for complex projects where trade-offs may be required. It goes beyond traditional consultation by creating the conditions for deep deliberation, fairness and consensus. This truly representative method can uncover hidden voices, build trust, and strengthen relationships between organisations and communities.
While well established and mandated in some states like Victoria, it’s still an emerging method across the rest of the country, used sparingly. In this webinar we unpack the principles, see how it has worked in practice across a range of projects, and explore how it could be applied in your own work, to lead the way in building more transparent and inclusive decision-making.
