ACSQ Gold Coast Region Vision and Needs Mapping
Anglican Church of Southern Queensland
ACSQ has a diverse portfolio of some 15 assets across the Gold Coast region. This spans aged care facilities, to schools and parish churches. The communities that these assets serve just as unique and diverse, ranging from the evolving community of Coomera, through to the dense population of Surfers Paradise.
The purpose of this project was to undertake initial targeted stakeholder engagement to understand the mission, aspirations, users, service needs, challenges and future potential for each ACSQ entity. This information will ultimately inform the development of a region-wide property strategy. It seeks to enhance ACSQ’s community offerings, identify opportunities for collaboration and co-location and importantly, support service delivery, worship and faith.
HOW WE DID IT
CRED Consulting designed and delivered stakeholder engagement for the project, engaging with a variety of ACSQ stakeholders from priests and church wardens to school principals to understand the offerings and mission objectives of each entity.
The objectives of the engagement were to:
- Engage key stakeholders to understand current mission, service and program delivery, as well as emerging community needs across ACSQ entities.
- Analyse current community demand and identify emerging priority cohorts for future services and programs.
- Gain insights into the specific needs, challenges, and operational realities of each entity.
- Clarify each entity’s vision and strategic priorities for the next 10–15 years.
- Assess current and future building, property and locational requirements, including opportunities to optimise mission, service and program delivery.
- Identify opportunities for shared use, co-location, or collaboration between entities to improve efficiency and community reach.
- Understand any regulatory, financial, or operational constraints affecting current or future property use.
- Capture aspirations for innovation, growth, and new models of mission-aligned service and ministry delivery.

OUTCOMES
Stakeholder engagement highlighted the diversity of ACSQ’s assets across the Gold Coast region, in form, function and aspirations. Together, they reflect the Church’s varied missions, from worship and fellowship to education and social support.
The engagement also highlighted common challenges and opportunities.
CRED also developed an asset-based opportunities register and map to summarise and illustrate the opportunities that were identified by each entity. These ranged from asset redevelopment or building improvements, through to asset activation and revenue generation and community outreach and partnerships.
