Goulburn-Mulwaree Social Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan

Cred worked with Goulburn-Mulwaree Council to deliver the LGA’s first Social Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan, based on extensive background research to guide community programs, services, places and spaces.

How we did it

Through in-depth research and literature review, and strong community engagement, we were able to understand key community wellbeing issues, strengths and assets including services, facilities, programs, community groups and events.

Our community engagement included a focus on engaging across the geographically-dispersed regional LGA to understand issues and priorities in the villages, and not just in the Goulburn township, while case studies of best-practice community wellbeing initiatives in other regional council areas helped to respond to identified issues and opportunities.

The outcome

Community conversations helped to shape the priorities and actions outlined in the final Social Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan, which identifies key social needs and provides strategies and actions for Council to respond to the unique regional context of Goulburn Mulwaree, located in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales.
